CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 16, 2017) – The Intercollegiate Sailing Association’s (ICSA) three spring national championships, Sperry College Sailing Women’s National Semi-Final and Final Championship, LaserPerformance College Sailing Team Race National Championship, and the Gill College Sailing National Semi-Final and Final Championship commence Tuesday, May 23. The Women’s event will last for four days immediately followed by the Team Race championship on May 27, lasting for three days and the Coed championship on May 30, lasting for four days.

Behind an impressive scoreline, the Washington Huskies won the NWICSA Coed Championship with 20 total points after 12 races. The effort undoubtedly resulted in a win in both A and B division.

The Northwestern University Wildcats cap an impressive season with a MCSA Team Race Championship win.  Their 16-2 record was enough to edge University of Wisconsin (13-5), who took second and the last spot MCSA offers to Team Race Nationals.

We are pleased to announce the participation of ICSA in the 2017 British University Sailing Association (BUSA) Tour and the LaserPerformance Collegiate Cup. The BUSA Tour is a bi-annual event pitting the best of ICSA against the best of BUSA in a tour style format that includes matches in Lasers, 2-person dinghies, and keelboats in Team Racing and Match Racing formats. The Tour has its roots all the way back to its inception in 1957 and has an incredible history of some of sailing’s best competing ever since.
